Brewery owner Steve Wesley began home-brewing in his Gladstone apartment in 1994 producing mediocre beers for his room mates and friends, the first being a Black Butte Porter clone.
Over the next two decades, Steve worked a full-time engineering job, raised a family, and continued home-brewing as a hobby and continued to fine tune the beers to a more palatable product.
After a lot of hard work, support, and great feed back from local brewers and friends (R.I.P. 4th Street Brewing) his Cocos Nucifera coconut porter took the Gold Medal at the Oregon Home Brew Competition in 2013 and the vision to someday own and operate a licensed brewery seemed a reality.
After numerous vacations to Palm Springs, CA and falling in love with the Googie style, mid-century modern, atomic, "Jetsons" theme of the area - Hop Haus Brewing was founded in June of 2014 in Gresham, Oregon with a vision of bringing the unique desert style to the Portland area along with some great award winning beers.
In March 2017 the quest to start brewing-beautiful-beer became a full-time adventure.
